After ticket holders for the World Cup of Darts 2020 in Hamburg and the German Darts Open 2020 in Jena got a chance to secure their tickets for the World Cup 2021 in priority sale, the remaining tickets are now on free sale. Currently up to 500 spectators are allowed per session.

“The World Cup of Darts is one of the most special PDC events! Also the players notice every time how much it means to them to be allowed to represent their country. Therefore, of course, as many darts fans as possible should be in Jena. We hope that the current allowed number of 500 people can still be increased”, said Werner von Moltke, chairman of PDC Europe.

In order to keep the event as safe as possible, only those fans who are fully vaccinated, recuperated or tested will be allowed to attend the World Cup of Darts 2021. The negative Covid-19 test must be made on the day of the event.

Fans attending the Sparkassen-Arena will be required to wear a face mask, but may remove them when seated.

The World Cup of Darts is the only tournament of the year in which the players compete in pairs matches. 32 nations will battle it out for the title and a total of £350,000 in prize money, with PDC number one Gerwyn Price and reigning Premier League champion Jonny Clayton attempting to defend their title for Wales.

The event starts on Thursday, September 9 with a first round evening session. The action continues on Friday evening when the last places in Round 2 will be up for grabs. On Saturday, the remaining 16 nations will compete in two sessions for a place in the quarter-finals before a further two sessions will bring the decision on Sunday.

The eight top nations like the Netherlands with Michael van Gerwen or Scotland with Peter Wright and Gary Anderson will be seeded before the draw for the first round.
